SLOVAKIA Banská Štiavnica Calvary

Above Banská Štiavnica you can find Baroque Calvary, which offers fine views over the city and the surrounding mountains. The work was initiated by Jesuits in the 18th century. All buildings of 3 churches and 22 chapels are set into the western side of the hill named Ostrý vrch (Sharp Hill). When climbing the hill, you can admire precious painting decorations, wooden and blacksmith’s movables and wooden painted reliefs.
